Maintenance and Facilities Manager
Livart is an art center located in a former presbytery in the Plateau-Mont-Royal neighborhood, comprising a gallery, artists’ studios, a school, an event hall, and a boutique. All of the center’s activities are driven by a desire to democratize art and culture. A place for creation, gathering, and sharing, Livart is also a space where the creativity of children and adults come together.
Livart rents its spaces to individuals, professionals, organizations, associations, and businesses of all kinds. The rooftop terrace, interior courtyard, gallery, and event hall are available for a wide variety of events, including weddings, business meetings, concerts, happy hours, and more. Under the supervision of the general manager, the person responsible for rental spaces handles sales related to Livart’s spaces in order to maximize space utilization and revenue.
Main responsabilities :
Ongoing maintenance of spaces
- Keep spaces clean and functional:
- Ensure cleaning before and after each event, including:
- Vacuuming and cleaning floors.
- Cleaning restrooms.
- Setting up and tidying spaces according to specific needs.
- Ensuring the daily cleanliness of common areas, including rooms, hallways, and restrooms.
- Regularly replace consumables (toilet paper, paper towels, trash cans, soap, etc.).
Management of the artists’ residence
- Ensure the artists’ residence is cleaned after each departure, including:
- Cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
- Washing, changing, and putting away bedding and towels.
- Checking equipment and reporting any repairs or replacements needed.
Maintenance and repairs
- Performing minor routine repairs:
- Replacing light bulbs.
- Minor repairs (e.g., door handles, furniture, toilets, etc.).
- Painting and touching up walls as needed.
- Identify major repairs and coordinate with external professionals to have them carried out.
Supplies and equipment management
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of supplies and equipment needed for the building (cleaning products, tools, etc.).
- Submit purchase requests to replenish stocks as needed.
Seasonal maintenance
- In winter :

- Clear snow from the main and secondary entrances to the building, including:
- Great Hall.
- Main entrance.
- Artists’ entrance.
- Stairs and entrances to 3976 (apartment to the left of Livart).

- Maintain the outdoor areas around the building:
- Front plaza.
- Inner courtyard.
- Area in front of the sacristy.
- Garbage area in the rear alley.
- Support for the organization’s activities

Provide logistical and technical support to the various departments of the organization:
- Setup and dismantling for rental events.
- Installation of exhibitions.
- Support for day camps (preparation of spaces).
- Organization and logistics for internal events, such as vernissages and other Livart events.
Required profile :
- Strong sense of organization and cleanliness.
- Autonomy and ability to take initiative to identify and resolve technical issues.
- DIY and repair skills.
- Good time management and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks (assembly, snow removal, etc.).
Employment conditions:
- 28 hours/week on site;
