In Gaza, Kyiv, Khartoum or Beirut, wars have (re)imposed themselves on our daily lives. With them, diplomatic and media discourses on war, political and humanitarian strategies, reconstruction plans, transitional justice issues, etc. (re)emerge.

Against this backdrop, the third issue of the journal Saha – ساحة looks at the “war” object. Faced with dominant narratives and silences, this new issue takes a step back to understand the dynamics at work: what are current wars the product of? What do they subvert of our present, and what do they threaten for the future?
