Fred Tougas has been a photographer in Montreal for over 15 years. For him, his practice is a form of poetry; an opportunity to use the external world to evoke an internal state, a tool that allows him to connect with his environment. Through his sensory approach and existential questioning, he strives to preserve his sensitivity and exercise his capacity for wonder.
He is particularly interested in environments in which humans gravitate, their reciprocal influence, sometimes highlighting the paradoxes that result from this interaction. It is by transmitting this that he seeks to reveal the hidden, the unseen, the unspoken.
